Here is the schedule with what to bring or prepare for each day depending on what you booked in for

13-17th March 2024

13th - Wednesday - Marae

It is important to be at the Marae, waiting outside at 9.45am. We wait together as Manuhiri (guests, visitors) to be welcomed by the Tangata Whenua (people of the land). We will help you know when we gather, how to prepare and feel the sacred welcoming to its fullest. Our Kui Marama will do our own response (Karanga) for our group. She is Kirsten's aunty from Taranaki. Its going to be truly special.  

Bring: If you are sleeping with us, under the same Marae roof tonight, it is all provided. Maybe some ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise if sleeping. If you want your own space - you can camp in a tent on the land too. Bring your toiletries and towel for shower. Food and utensils are provided. 

Provided: Bedding, Morning Tea, Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast

14th - Koukoulee

Marae until 10.15

Koukoulee Yoga Studio, Oneroa 11am

4pm We are transported to Nature and Sunset Drumming

We all tidy the Marae together. Then we can transport you to Koukoulee. Lunch is provided. Bring nothing. We can store your accommodation items until your next place of staying. 

4pm. We transport you to the ancient Pohutukawa Tree and other sites for sunset. If you like to bring your own medicine drum, you are welcome. Bring a blanket or towel to sit on.  If its raining, we need wet weather gear when  going to enjoy Lyndal and Catia's sessions.

The map here is the Koukoulee Yoga studio.  

 

Details of the 4.30pm Pohutakawa connection session...

We travel together to the Sunset trees... Lyndal will guide a  forest walk and nature connection meditation with the grandmother Pohutakawa tree in Te Toki Reserve, Palm Beach. Following this the group will gather with the 1200 year old grandfather Pohutakawa on the hill above for sunset drumming.

 

Our retreat group are transported OR

If you join us at 4.30pm - Where to meet: Participants will meet at the Te Toki Rd entrance to the reserve at 4.30pm. Transport is available from Koukolee yoga studio at 4pm. 

Event finishes after sunset.

15th - Koukoulee

Kinam (Toltec yoga) Oneroa beach 9-10.15am - meet at the beach.

Koukoulee Yoga studio 11am - 4pm
4pm - Transported to Palm Beach for session with Paora

Oneroa Beach. Bring to beach: yoga mat or towel.

We then walk up to Koukoulee for 11am.

At Koukoulee everything is provided (yoga mats). Lunch is provided.

 

4pm we will transport you to Palm Beach, where we will just enjoy integration and the sunset!. Celebration of the journey. 

 

16th - Saturday

8am- 12noon - Meet at Onetangi Beach for Kayak Sacred Experience. We go from the beach in double Kayaks to a sacred spot. Book online at our site prior please - to get the right No. of kayaks.

Evening Ecstatic Dance

$22 pre book.

KAYAK TO A SACRED SITE

Bring: Wet weather gear. Swimmers. Waterproof bag for lunch. 

We will experience a sacred portal of souls coming to the earth fresh.

At the beach, you can stay there and enjoy your food.

Or you can climb up to a hill and experience the site.

See event - $55.

Bring: snacks, lunch, chance to swim.

18th - Sunday

8am-11am - Temazcal - see event details

 

Join us at 8am in the forest for a Temascal (sweat lodge)  See our event page.

Important - How to prepare and what to bring:

2 Towels -Pareo / long skirt / dress (cotton) - Water to drink - Fruit or snack to share after the temazcal - Instruments (drum, flute, bells, rattle) that are not made of metal. - Warm clothes for after the temazcal (please cover your head after temazcal) - Offering to fire or altar (flowers, tobbaco, sage) - Gum boots if wet.
How to prepare - Fast during the day of the temazcal - Do NOT consume meat, alcohol, medicinal plants or drugs at least 72 hours before the temazcal. - Drink plenty of water - Let go of expectations and receive warmth and song with love.

Note restrictions - Women with less than 6 months of pregnancy should not enter the temazcal - Women and their moon, you are in sacred space already. So, the recommendation is to nest on your own. But it is up to you if you want to join women only temazcal! - People intoxicated under any substance will not be able to enter the temazcal. - People with brain or heart damage (pacemaker) should not enter the temazcal. - Any other health condition please notify the facilitator (high/low pressure)
